Senator Cory Booker and FBI Director Kash Patel traded sharp personal remarks during a Senate Judiciary Committee oversight hearing. Committee chairman Chuck Grassley intervened as the confrontation escalated.
The exchange
In the published Rockstar Senators reel, Booker challenges Patel about spending connected to his girlfriend and accuses him of avoiding questions while speaking freely on Fox News. Patel responds with a personal attack on Booker. Grassley then cuts into the exchange.
Booker says he will continue holding Patel accountable until he is fired. Patel turns to FBI performance, claiming violent-crime arrests in New Jersey are up 75 percent. Booker credits state and local police.
The setting: oversight of the FBI
The committee’s official record identifies the event as Oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, held on 15 September 2026 in Room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building. It lists Patel as the witness in his capacity as FBI director.
Patel’s prepared testimony presents the bureau’s own account of its work. It discusses violent crime, task forces and cooperation with other law-enforcement agencies. That document provides context for his performance defence, but it is not a transcript of Booker’s questioning.
What the clip cannot settle
Titus Today has not independently verified Booker’s spending allegation or Patel’s 75 percent figure. The exchange does not supply the spending records or arrest data needed to assess them.
An increase in arrests and a reduction in crime are different measures. A percentage also needs a defined time period, comparison baseline and explanation of which agencies’ work it counts. The exchange, by itself, does not supply those details.
